FitStory – Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
FitStory (“FitStory,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”) is a personal fitness and progress tracking application developed by Juan Carlos Montes Castillo.
FitStory is designed with privacy in mind. Your personal fitness information, progress entries, and photos are primarily stored locally on your device. FitStory does not require a user account and does not operate its own server for storing your personal fitness data.
1. Information FitStory stores
FitStory may store information that you enter or choose to import, including:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Sex
- Height
- Fitness goals
- Weight and body measurements
- Energy and wellness check-ins
- Personal notes
- Progress photos
- Workout information
- Sleep information
- Recovery information
- Health and activity information you authorize FitStory to access
This information is stored locally using protected storage available on your Apple device.
FitStory does not require you to create an account, and the developer does not have direct access to the information stored inside the app on your device.
2. Apple Health and HealthKit
If you give permission, FitStory may read information from Apple Health through HealthKit.
Depending on the permissions you choose, this may include information such as:
- Workouts
- Heart rate
- Resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Steps
- Sleep
- Weight
- Respiratory rate
- Blood oxygen and other supported fitness or wellness metrics
You control which Health categories FitStory can access.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time through Apple Health or your device settings.
FitStory does not sell HealthKit data and does not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing, or cross-app tracking.
FitStory currently does not write health information to Apple Health unless this functionality is clearly introduced and authorized by you in a future version.
3. WHOOP, Strava and other integrations
FitStory may allow you to optionally connect supported third-party fitness services such as WHOOP or Strava.
When you connect one of these services, FitStory may communicate with that provider’s official systems in order to retrieve fitness information that you have authorized.
This may include data such as:
- Workouts
- Sleep
- Recovery
- Strain
- Heart rate
- Activity information
Authentication tokens or credentials required for these connections may be stored securely using Apple’s Keychain or other secure system storage.
FitStory does not intentionally send your private FitStory journal, progress photos, body measurements, or personal notes to WHOOP, Strava, or another fitness service unless a feature clearly tells you that information will be shared and you choose to do so.
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
You can disconnect supported integrations at any time from Profile → Integrations.
4. Camera and progress photos
FitStory may request access to your camera or photo library to let you create and manage progress photos.
Progress photos are intended to remain stored on your device.
FitStory does not automatically upload your progress photos to FitStory-operated servers.
Photos may leave your device only when you intentionally use a feature that exports, shares, backs up, or transfers them through another service.
5. Artificial intelligence features
On supported devices, FitStory may use Apple-provided intelligence technologies to provide features such as summaries, natural-language logging, insights, or “Ask FitStory.”
FitStory is designed to use privacy-preserving Apple technologies whenever available.
Some processing may happen directly on your device. If an Apple-provided service performs additional processing, that processing is subject to Apple’s privacy and security protections.
FitStory does not operate its own AI server for these features and does not use your private fitness information to train FitStory-owned artificial intelligence models.
6. Notifications
FitStory may send optional reminders, such as reminders to:
- Complete a daily check-in
- Record measurements
- Take a progress photo
- Review your progress
Where supported, these reminders are scheduled and managed through Apple’s notification system.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
7. Face ID, Touch ID and device authentication
FitStory may allow you to protect access to the app using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
Authentication is handled by Apple’s system.
FitStory does not receive, store, or have access to your fingerprint, facial recognition data, or biometric template.
8. Analytics, advertising and tracking
FitStory does not use your personal fitness or health information for advertising.
FitStory does not sell your personal information.
FitStory does not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing, or user profiling.
If FitStory introduces optional analytics or diagnostic technologies in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe them where required.
9. Exporting your information
FitStory may allow you to export information stored inside the app from Profile → Privacy & Data.
Depending on the available version of the app, an export may contain information such as:
- Progress entries
- Measurements
- Notes
- Fitness records
- Progress photos
Once you export or share information outside FitStory, the handling of that exported information depends on where you choose to save or send it.
10. Deleting your information
You can delete information stored by FitStory through the controls available inside the app.
Where available, you may delete all FitStory data from:
Profile → Privacy & Data
Deleting FitStory from your device will normally remove information stored exclusively inside the app’s local storage, subject to Apple’s operating system behavior and any backups or copies you have independently created.
Deleting FitStory does not automatically delete information stored in Apple Health, WHOOP, Strava, iCloud, or other independent services.
11. Data security
FitStory relies on security protections provided by iOS and Apple frameworks, including application sandboxing and secure system storage where appropriate.
However, no electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple device, Apple ID, device passcode, and any connected third-party accounts.
12. Children’s privacy
FitStory is not intended for children under the age of 13.
FitStory does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through developer-operated servers.
If you believe a child has provided information in a way that requires attention, please contact us.
13. Medical disclaimer
FitStory is designed for personal fitness, wellness and progress tracking.
FitStory is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition.
Information, trends, summaries, scores, insights, or suggestions displayed by FitStory should not be considered medical advice.
For health concerns or medical decisions, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
14. Third-party services
FitStory may interact with services operated by other companies, including Apple, WHOOP and Strava.
Those companies may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
FitStory is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party services.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when FitStory changes, introduces new integrations, or adds new functionality.
The updated version will be published on this page together with a revised effective date.
